High Desert had no answer for Rancho Cucamonga Quakes starter Jesse Filsinger, who flummoxed Mavericks hitters as the Quakes cruised to victory, 6-1. High Desert now is 3-3.

The Mavericks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Quakes going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old second baseman A.J. Stevens came to the plate. Stevens hit a 2-run triple on a 1-2 fastball from High Desert hurler Jason Barcia. It was Stevens's 1st triple of the year.

"We have a lot of confidence in Jesse," said Rancho Cucamonga manager .
