|
Lancaster parlayed a decent outing from starter Angel Morales into a solid win over the Stockton Ports. The final score was 6-4. Morales, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. Tom Davis recorded the save for Lancaster, his 1st of the season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Kikuichi Tanimoto? The 29-year old left fielder Tanimoto stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Lancaster up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Tanimoto said after the game.
The loss makes Stockton 1-6.
