Stockton second baseman Sam Bowes had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bowes went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, even as Bakersfield beat the Ports, 7-3. Aaron Craig, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. The Blaze keep rolling, raising their record to 8-4.

Bakersfield took a 6-3 lead on Jose Onzales's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Onzales hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Stockton pitcher Pat Beil visibly frustrated.

"Things didn't bounce our way," said Stockton skipper Jon Rosales.
