San Jose Giants starter Jorge Ochoa pitched a strong game against the Bakersfield Blaze at San Jose Municipal Stadium, leading the Giants to victory, 5-4. The loss makes the Blaze 5-10.

The Blaze had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Giants going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman Sean Hamm came to the plate. Hamm hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from Bakersfield hurler Tom Frye. It was Hamm's 3rd double of the year.

Hamm called the win "an overall solid one."
