Giants Get Past Bakersfield for 2-1 Win
San Jose used a superb performance from starting pitcher Junior Elling to down the Bakersfield Blaze, 2-1. Alberto Vasquez, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. With the win, San Jose improves its record to 9-7.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Jonathan Duarte hit a run-scoring single. The Giants went on to win.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Bakersfield skipper D'Aundray Van Slyke.
