The High Desert Mavericks got a strong performance from pitcher Matt Wilczynski, who stymied the Lancaster offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Stater Bros. Stadium. Wilczynski went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 10. His record improves to 3-0. High Desert has a record of 11-7.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Mavericks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when catcher Bobby Dolan hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Mike Treadway and made the score 2-1, Mavericks. Dolan went 2-4 with a double.
