Ports Trump 66ers, 7-1
|
Kevin Hopkins was locked and loaded, helping the Stockton Ports beat the Inland Empire 66ers, 7-1. The win moves Stockton to a record of 7-11.
The Ports got a big hit from second baseman Joe Harbin. Facing Inland Empire pitcher Joaquin Mejia in the bottom of the sixth, Harbin pounded a solo home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the Ports ahead, 2-1.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Harbin told the Stockton Times. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
