Mavericks Sneak Past Rawhide, 3-2

The High Desert Mavericks got a strong performance from pitcher Jon Caraballo, who stymied the Visalia offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Stater Bros. Stadium. Marcello Jarvis got credit for the save for High Desert. It was his 1st of the year. The win has High Desert at 10-12.
High Desert took a 3-2 lead on Jason Perilli's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Perilli hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Visalia pitcher Juan Mendoza visibly frustrated.
"That's baseball," said Visalia manager Colton Burns. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
