The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes topped the Inland Empire 66ers by a score of 9-6. Leading the way was third baseman Jerry Acosta. Acosta was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Quakes. Eric Schmidt was credited with the save for Rancho Cucamonga, his 2nd of the season. Rancho Cucamonga, now 16-7, has played well in the early going.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Acosta hit a 2-run home run off Juan Trevino. It propelled the Quakes into the lead, 5-3.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Acosta.
