Mavericks Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The High Desert Mavericks topped the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 5-2, in California League action at LoanMart Field. The standout performance belonged to High Desert pitcher and Corona, California, native Aaron Howard. Howard yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-0. Brent Tucker nailed down the save.

The Mavericks got a big at-bat from right fielder Joe Moras. For the game, Moras was 1-4 with a triple. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave High Desert a 1-0 lead.
