Multi-HR Day for Patrick as Rangers Overpower Blue Jays, 6-4
|
A 4-RBI performance from Chris Patrick, who is a two-time All-Star, helped the Texas Rangers beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-4. The winning pitcher was Danny Bagwell. He's now 1-0. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits for the Rangers. Aaron Aycock collected save number 3.
Texas used the timely hitting of Kevin Hock to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hock said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Toronto is 6-4 after the loss.
