Bakersfield Blaze starter Eric Herdman was on his game, helping his team beat the Inland Empire 66ers, 6-2. The win went to Antonio Solorio in relief, making him now 1-2. Max Galvez took the loss for Inland Empire. Inland Empire is 13-12 after the defeat.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jose Onzales in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a grand slam home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Max Galvez to win the game for Bakersfield. The home crowd went nuts.

"I thought Eric threw the ball well across the board," said Bakersfield manager Jerry Zuniga.
