Mavericks Take Tight Tilt, 3-2
High Desert turned a good performance from starting pitcher Ray Kiskadden into a 3-2 triumph over the Lancaster JetHawks at Stater Bros. Stadium. The winner was Kiskadden. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was John Zamora. The win puts High Desert at 17-8.

David Lura had a big run-scoring double for the Mavericks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With High Desert leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from top prospect John Zamora and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mavericks ahead, 3-0.

"Ray gave us a heck of an effort," said High Desert manager Jose Sierra.
