Mavericks Earn Late Win
The High Desert Mavericks needed 10 innings to beat the Lancaster JetHawks, 2-1, at Stater Bros. Stadium. Matt Allegra, for one, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. With the win, High Desert boosts its record to 13-12.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Allegra hit a fastball from Al Valerio for a solo home run. The Mavericks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Allegra said, postgame.
