The Stockton Ports tallied a win at Banner Island Ballpark, throttling the Inland Empire 66ers, 2-1. Starting pitcher Bobby Rettig was a big reason for his team's success. The win belongs to Mike Pigg in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Mario Cruz took the loss for Inland Empire. The save was credited to Steve Mitchell, his 6th.

Stockton took a 2-1 lead on Malachi Bazile's 9th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Bazile hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Inland Empire pitcher John Showe visibly frustrated.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Mike Scarpa.

The 66ers fall to 9-19 and continue their lackluster start to the 2098 season.
