Bakersfield Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Bakersfield Blaze and Stockton Ports get after it.
Bakersfield third baseman Zack DiPilato had a good game, even if his team did not. The Blaze dropped a 7-4 decision to Stockton at Banner Island Ballpark. DiPilato went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Josh Zapfe got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. The save went to Ryan Wolfe, number 4 for him.
Juan Franco, who is tied for 6th in the CAL in RBI with 19, helped out the Stockton cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the second baseman was 2-4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Bakersfield manager Jerry Zuniga.
Bakersfield falls to 11-17.
