San Jose starter Bill Laird ran into little resistance from Inland Empire hitters, as his team cruised to victory, 9-2. Laird yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-2. The Giants now own a record of 13-16.
