The Stockton Ports faced a tough opponent in Bakersfield pitcher Eric Herdman, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Banner Island Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Herdman went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winner in relief was Edwardo Cardenas. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-6. The last-place Ports own a record of 8-21.

The decisive blow was delivered by Kyle Russo in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Logan Puetz to win the game for Stockton. The home crowd went nuts.
