The Stockton Ports met little resistance from the San Jose Giants, beating them, 15-1, at Banner Island Ballpark. Sam Bowes led the way. He was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for Stockton. Stockton has now won 3 in a row.

The Ports got a big hit from designated hitter Mario Perales. Facing San Jose pitcher Bryan Schmidt in the bottom of the eighth, Perales pounded a grand slam home run to right. His 1st home run of the season put the Ports ahead, 15-1.

San Jose manager Elwiin de Lange called the blowout loss "nothing to write home about."
