The Stockton Ports topped the Bakersfield Blaze, 9-5, with third baseman Mike Plancich playing a big role. Plancich went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Ports in the win. The 4th-place Blaze now sit at 15-18.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Joe Harbin came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Bakersfield pitcher Mike England, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Stockton on top, 6-5.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Plancich.
