Mavericks Lose, 8-5, as Blaze Rally
|
Bill Macias impressed in the 8-5 Bakersfield win over High Desert. Macias, who is tied for 8th in the CAL in hits with 35, went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bakersfield, now 22-11, holds down first place in the North Division.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Macias hit a curveball from Jake Herley for a 3-run home run. The Blaze, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Macias told reporters after the game.
