Storm Get One-Run Win at Inland Empire
|
Inland Empire pitcher Jake Shouse gave the Storm all they could handle, but in the end, Lake Elsinore left San Manuel Stadium with a win, 1-0. Shouse allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 9 innings. George Phillips closed out the game, earning his 3rd save. With the win, the Storm improved to 17-17.
Jason Patterson, who is tied for 5th in the CAL in doubles with 10, had a direct impact on the outcome. Patterson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Lake Elsinore up, 1-0.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Jonathan Vasquez.
