Stockton left fielder Warren Curtis made his presence felt in the 5-3 Ports triumph over the Bakersfield Blaze. Curtis went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Ian Lowe was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was 22-year old left-handed pitcher Guillermo Lopez. Pedro Sambrano picked up his 6th save of the season.

Curtis had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-1 changeup from Guillermo Lopez, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Ports a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Curtis.

"We played hard and won," said Curtis. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
