Quakes Snatch Late Win
Lancaster got a big-time effort from pitcher Mike Treadway, but it wasn't enough to keep the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes from winning the game, 3-1. Treadway threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Rancho Cucamonga reliever Dennis Emmons, now 2-2. The loser was Mike Hewitt. The Quakes have an impressive 22-12 record.

Aaron Marcis, the 25-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Marcis contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Rancho Cucamonga up, 3-1.

"Tough loss," said Lancaster manager Francis Prettitore. "But we'll learn from it."
