Giants Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
The San Jose Giants faced a tough opponent in Inland Empire pitcher Derrick Landry, but did just enough to pull out the victory at San Jose Municipal Stadium by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Landry went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Fidel Gonzales claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 2-2. San Jose is first in the North Division with a record of 22-13.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ryan Over in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Mario Navarro to win the game for San Jose. The home crowd went nuts.

Over expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
