The San Jose Giants overcame a pretty good performance by Modesto shortstop Manny Jimenez, beating the Nuts, 8-7, in 11 innings. Jimenez was 4-5 with 2 home runs, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. San Jose is now 26-9. Modesto is 20-15.

San Jose needed the clutch hitting of Caleb Franklin to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Giants on top, 8-7. For the game, Franklin had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

In postgame comments, Franklin said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
