High Desert rode a fine outing from starter Marco Gonzalez to victory over the Lancaster JetHawks at Stater Bros. Stadium. The final score was 3-0. At 15-20, the Mavericks claim third place in the South Division.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Matt Wilczynski didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Lancaster trailing 2-0, Wilczynski retired Jesse Boal to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Wilczynski, with a wink.
