Fans saw a dandy of a game between the San Jose Giants and Stockton Ports.

The Stockton Ports got a superb performance from pitcher Jeremy Musgrave. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Jose. The Giants won the game, 2-1. Musgrave threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. San Jose starter Bill Laird was credited with the win after throwing 84 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-2.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Miguel Jurado? The San Jose designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Giants on top, 2-0. For the game, Jurado had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said San Jose skipper Brian Johnson. "I can't complain."

The Giants improved their record to 20-19 by beating Stockton.
