Giants Notch 3-0 Win Versus Ports
|
San Jose took on Stockton in front of a lively crowd.
The San Jose Giants faced a tough opponent in Stockton pitcher Kevin Henshall, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Banner Island Ballpark by a final score of 3-0. Henshall went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The save went to Lee Barsa, number 1 for him.
San Jose used the clutch hitting of Miguel Jurado to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Giants the lead, 2-0. For the game, Jurado had 1 single and 2 doubles in 4 at-bats.
"Makes our job easier," said Jurado, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
The Giants raised their record to 21-19.
