Cubs Sneak By Cardinals, 2-1
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals.
In a well-pitched game between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals, pitcher Jonathan Hager was fantastic. The Chicago right-hander helped his team secure the win, 2-1. Chicago reliever Danny Lowery was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Dave Driskill took the loss.
Manuel Jimenez came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The first baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Jonathan went out and did what we needed," said Chicago manager Vin Calia.
After losing, St. Louis is 8-2.
