In a close game at Stater Bros. Stadium, the High Desert Mavericks edged the Lancaster JetHawks, 5-4. High Desert first baseman Justin Finster stood apart with his performance. He went 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2. Jose Valencia recorded his 4th save for High Desert. High Desert is now 26-16, Lancaster 17-25.

Had Finster not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Finster hit a run-scoring single. The Mavericks took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.

High Desert manager Jose Sierra was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
