The High Desert Mavericks weathered a fine game by Lancaster center fielder Paul Baudry to upend the JetHawks, 6-4, at Stater Bros. Stadium. Baudry went 3-4 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs. Simon McAfee, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Efrain Fuentes was credited with the save for High Desert, his 2nd of the season.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Mike Cooper was at the plate when High Desert scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Mavericks to go in front, 5-4.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Mavericks," said Cooper.

The win for the Mavericks lifted their record to 24-19.
