Giants Need Extra Frames to Get Past Quakes
The San Jose Giants beat the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 6-4. San Jose pitcher and Cimarron, Kansas, native Brad MacDonald led the way. The setback makes Rancho Cucamonga 28-15.

Rich Nuila drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances for San Jose. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Chris Thompson. It was his 8th walk of the season.

"They tested our mettle," said MacDonald. "But that's good. It toughens us up."
