High Desert right-hander Marco Gonzalez helped his team edge Stockton by the score of 2-1. Gonzalez kept the opposing lineup in check. Erik Rizzo picked up the save for High Desert, his 8th of the year. The Mavericks saw their win-loss record go to 19-26. At the same time, the Ports fell to 24-21.

High Desert took a 2-1 lead on Bill Angeron's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Stockton pitcher Mark Straka in the bottom of the seventh.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Angeron. "And not try to do too much."
