The San Jose Giants scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Inland Empire 66ers at San Manuel Stadium. San Jose pitcher Brad MacDonald held his own in the contest. The winner was MacDonald. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Hector Figueroa. The Giants are now 19-26.

Alex Perez came through with a big-time hit for San Jose. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Perez told a San Jose Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
