Lake Elsinore Earns 7-6 Win
The Lake Elsinore Storm and San Jose Giants fought to the finish at San Jose Municipal Stadium.

Lake Elsinore beat San Jose at San Jose Municipal Stadium, escaping with a 7-6 win in 12 innings. The win in large part was due to second baseman Corey Lanham. He went 3-5 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mike Domzalski earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. Bill Spencer earned the save for Lake Elsinore, his 1st of the year.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Eddie Serio? The Lake Elsinore designated hitter had a run-scoring walk in the top of the 12th inning to put the Storm on top, 7-6. For the game, Serio had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We just never give in," said Serio. "We think we've got an opportunity as long as we have an at-bat and some outs left."

At 28-18, the Storm find themselves in second place in the South Division.
