San Jose Giants starter Daniel Roth pitched his team past the Bakersfield Blaze, 4-2. Getting the save was Evan Rydalch, his 6th. San Jose is now 33-14.

San Jose first baseman Pat Hanssen contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 48th hit of the season and put the Giants ahead, 2-0.

"Felt great, felt really good," said Roth.
