Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blaze
Colin Milligan had a good game, but he could not keep the High Desert Mavericks from falling, 7-6, to the Bakersfield Blaze at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. The High Desert second baseman was 5 for 9 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 in the loss. Jim Unknown, credited with the win, is now 1-0. The Blaze were down to their final out when catcher Cody Guzman turned a 1-1 cutter from Pete Tittle into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark crowd go wild.
