Rawhide Topple JetHawks, 6-1, as James Shines
|
The Lancaster JetHawks and Visalia Rawhide were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Jim James was a vital contributor to the 6-1 Visalia victory over Lancaster. The Rawhide shortstop went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Jalen Greene got the win, improving to 4-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 1.
Visalia second baseman Randy Steg contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 61st hit of the season and put the Rawhide ahead, 4-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Steg said.
Visalia, at 29-19, occupies first place in the North Division.
