Blaze Thrill Fans with 2-1 Win
The Bakersfield Blaze converted a terrific effort from starter Branden McDonald into a win over the Modesto Nuts at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. The Blaze won the game by a final score of 2-1. Bakersfield reliever Aaron Hubbell picked up the win to move to 1-2. Luis Bugarin suffered the loss. Bakersfield is now 17-34, Modesto 32-19.

Jim Scroggins was the walk-off hero for Bakersfield. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blaze second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Branden was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Bakersfield manager Jerry Zuniga.
