The 5-2 Rancho Cucamonga win over San Jose was due in large part to Kai Robinson. The Quakes right fielder went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. Eric Schmidt earned the save for Rancho Cucamonga, his 9th. The first-place Quakes lifted their record to 35-16.

Rancho Cucamonga used the timely hitting of Leo Correa to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Quakes on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Robinson said his team "played with focus and determination."
