The Houston Astros got a superb performance from pitcher Manny Rice, but the Baltimore Orioles still won the game, 3-1. Rice threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Miguel Castro earned the save for Baltimore, his 2nd. The Orioles raised their record to 8-4.
Lee Board chipped in for Baltimore with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
Board said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
