Giants Drop Blaze, 1-0
|
In a low-scoring contest, San Jose pitcher Bryan Townsend was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 1-0 win. Tim King locked down his 2nd save. The first-place Giants lifted their record to 38-17.
San Jose used the hitting of Felix Cancino to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Giants on top, 1-0. For the game, Cancino had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
Cancino attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
