66ers Lose to Quakes in Walk-Off
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes defeated the Inland Empire 66ers, 7-6. Doing his part was right fielder Justin Mateo, who was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win went to Bill Pavek in relief, making him now 6-0. Kelly Maas took the loss for Inland Empire. Rancho Cucamonga is now 41-15, Inland Empire 20-36.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Rancho Cucamonga trailing 6-5, Mateo jumped on a curveball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Kelly Maas and hit a 2-run home run to left. With one swing, the Quakes had a walk-off win.

"This place was rocking at the end," Mateo said.
