Joey Renner never let the Storm get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the 66ers to a win, 2-1. The 66ers raised their record to 23-37.

Inland Empire first baseman Josh Depew contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a screwball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 22nd hit of the season and put the 66ers ahead, 2-1.

"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Depew said.
