5-2 Loss Deepens Bakersfield Funk
|
The Bakersfield Blaze got a superb performance from pitcher Andres Tomassini, but the San Jose Giants still won the game, 5-2. Tomassini threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. San Jose reliever Eric Maynard picked up the win to move to 3-2. Blake Anderson suffered the loss. The win puts the Giants at 32-28, while the Blaze drop to 24-36.
San Jose used the timely hitting of Miguel Jurado to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Giants on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Solid game, solid win tonight," said a smiling Jurado.
