Rangers Rally to Nose Past Tampa Bay
|
Tampa Bay got a decent performance from pitcher Tim Demaree, but it wasn't enough to beat the Texas Rangers. Texas won the Jon Nunez Sr. Stadium contest, 4-3. Demaree threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The Rays drop to 5-6 and continue their mediocre start to the 2106 season.
Texas used the timely hitting of Bobby Socol to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rangers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It feels good to get this one," Socol told the Texas Times.
