The San Jose Giants took Ryan Snyder's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. The final score had San Jose getting past the Blaze, 5-3, in 11 innings. Snyder over 5.1 innings allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 5. San Jose pitcher Adam Murphy earned the win, hiking his record to 1-4. Josh Gordon suffered the loss. The third-place Blaze now sit at 25-37.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Kevin Shaffer came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Bakersfield pitcher Angel Gonzalez, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Jose on top, 4-3.

In postgame comments, Shaffer said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
