JetHawks Drop 66ers, 12-5
|
Spirited fans greeted the Inland Empire 66ers for their clash with the Lancaster JetHawks.
The Lancaster JetHawks beat the Inland Empire 66ers, 12-5, at San Manuel Stadium. Chad Poppenberg, in particular, was impressive. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Jeremiah Boatwright went 8.2 innings for Lancaster to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 5 runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 9. His record improves to 6-4.
It could have been a different outcome for Lancaster, had it not been for Paul Baudry, the 26-year old center fielder . Baudry contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Lancaster up, 2-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Poppenberg, "and today was a good one for us."
The second-place JetHawks lifted their record to 30-33.
