Aaron Thomas did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to spare the Lake Elsinore Storm an extra-inning, 5-4 loss to the Inland Empire 66ers at San Manuel Stadium. Thomas was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win went to Jorge Rodriguez in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Bobby Isom took the loss. The 66ers now own a record of 14-51.

Inland Empire got a knockout punch from Robby Rothbaum. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"This place went bananas," Rothbaum said.
