Pittsburgh Beats Cleveland, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cleveland Guardians, Monte Acosta was the X factor. The Pittsburgh left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The win belonged to Tyler Chargois in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rob Lewey took the loss for Cleveland. The save went to Willie Lopez, his 3rd this season.
Pittsburgh went up, 2-1, on Tony Solorio's 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Solorio hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cleveland pitcher Rob Lewey shaking his head.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Acosta.
The win gives Pittsburgh a record of 5-5.
