The Lancaster JetHawks topped the San Jose Giants, 8-0, in California League action at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Lancaster left fielder Angel Perez. Rob Blanton, the winner, improved to 3-7. He held the Giants to no runs on 1 hit over 7.1 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 1. With the win, the JetHawks have a record of 34-35.

With Lancaster leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Perez hit a splitter from Paul Rogers for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the JetHawks ahead, 3-0.

"They played a better game than we did," said San Jose skipper Rogelio Ramirez.
