Inland Empire 66ers starter Mario Cruz turned in a sterling performance against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Picking up the save was Jeremiah Heaggans, his 4th. Inland Empire currently is in last place in the South Division at 27-45.

David Hardy, the 23-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hardy contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Inland Empire up, 1-0.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Rancho Cucamonga manager Aaron Alvarez. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
